Yandong Zhang, Chief Strategy Officer, Shenzhen Institute of Neuroscience. Mr. Zhang received his bachelor’s degree in 1991 from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University and Master’s degree in 1994 from the Department of Surface Science and Corrosion Engineering, the University of Science and Technology Beijing. In 1998, he studied virtual laboratory management in Iowa State University; in 2006, he attended the MPA course for young and middle-aged cadres in Duke University, which was organized by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China. Mr. Zhang has accumulated rich experience in administrative management and industrialization. He worked in the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, as Vice Consultant, Deputy Director, and Director of the Division of Key Research Bases Administration (i.e. State Key Laboratories), Director of the Division of Key Major Projects Administration (i.e. “973” program grants) in the Department of Basic Research, and Deputy Director of the High Tech Research and Development Center.
