Jian Zhang, M.D., Ph.D.

Principal Investigator, Shenzhen Institute of Neuroscience
Professor, Shenzhen University School of Medicine
Chief Physician of Neurology

Professor Zhang earned his PhD degree in the Department of Neurology at Tongji Medical School, Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2004. He has been working on diagnosis, education and research in the field of neurology for a long time and has accumulated a wealth of clinic experience and research foundation in the domains of stroke, migraine, insomnia, anxiety, depression and Alzheimer's disease. Using immunohistochemical and electrophysiological techniques, he has conducted studies of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of signal transduction and modulation as well as diagnosis and treatments on several types of diseases involving cerebral ischemia, epilepsy, anxiety and depression, Huntington's disease, neuromuscular disease and pain. He has published many papers in leading Chinese and international journals.
